Marwell Zoo trip 23/2/2019

Hi,

Welcome back to my blog!

Last Saturday, to end the half term off for Tasha and Darcie (and to make the most of the lovely weather we've been having) we thought we would take a trip to Marwell Zoo. We had a lovely time and I think we spent about 5 hours there.

We have been to Marwell Zoo before as a family. It was a little under a year ago. The last time we went Darcie adopted Isabella the giraffe. When adopting a animal at Marwell, your name get's put on the adoption board by where your chosen animal is. So we really wanted to go back to see her name on the board.

(blanked out other children's names and just left Darcie's for obvious reasons)

We enjoyed a nice walk round Marwell Zoo. We stopped off by the penguins first and then on round past the cheetahs on to the giraffes and lemurs. Darcie loved seeing the giraffes again. After we went on to see a few more animals including the tiger and the meerkats.

We then stopped for a bite to eat in Café Graze. Myself and Tasha had meals from the café. I had fish, chips and beans and Tasha had chicken, bacon and leek pie with herb potatoes. We weren't to sure on what they would have for Darcie so we brought her something from home. They had a good choice of food in there. Tasha also spotted that they had a good range of gluten free foods to (she looks at thing like this more now due to having celiac family members). We really didn't need to provide Darcie with food from home as they had plenty of choice for her to. They had ready made children's lunch boxes with ham, cheese and jam sandwiches in and a selection of sides in. Overall we really enjoyed our experience in the café.

We then left and walked round the rest of the zoo. I really enjoyed the giraffes and Tasha had quite a few favourites but I think she would pink the snow leopards over all. As for Darcie, she enjoyed everything! Marwell was defiantly a lovely family day out and we plan on revisiting soon and perhaps adopting a different animal for Darcie.

I hope you enjoy all the photos Tasha took below!
